Our GIS solutions based on Open Source software

You will get the powerful and free GIS complex which will satisfying all your needs.

Furthermore we offer a developing of the GIS extensions to add the specific functions into your QGIS.

As you have understood, the main platform for building of corporate GIS solution is QGIS.

QGIS is convenient and flexible geographic information system (GIS), which is supporting and developing by international community of enthusiasts and powerful stakeholders, who have tightly integrate the QGIS into their business workflows.

QGIS is distributing on terms of GNU General Public License and it is a project of Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo). QGIS works well at Linux, BSD, Mac OSX, Windows and even at Android operation systems. It supports huge number of raster and vector data formats and databases. The number of supported formats even greater than has its nearest competitor – ESRI ArcGIS.

QGIS provides a tight integration with other open source GIS packages, including PostGIS, GRASS, GeoServer, MapServer and others. Such integration leads to dramatic expansion of analytical and functional abilities. Furthermore, QGIS allows to connect the colossal number of addons written on Python, C++ and R.

The main rival of QGIS is ESRI ArcGIS — the monstrous powerful but also very expensive proprietary GIS.

In the table below you can see the comparison of major features between QGIS and ArcGIS

QGIS, GRASS, SAGA, GeoServer and others are free for commercial use open source packages with open public licenses (GNU, GPL, BSD, and others).

ArcGIS is proprietary system with closed and expensive license.

Operative systems compatibility

Microsoft Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, BSD, Android

only Microsoft Windows

There is a numerous amount of data formats that can be easily expanded by free addons.

Formats number is limited by default software package and official patches.

Huge number of free extensions accessible for installations from QGIS plugin collection.

Set of integrated tools. The prevailed number of stand-alone extensions is paid.

In general, with major extensions, the set of tools counts 770, with possibility for further expanding.

Conditionally we can distinguish a set of such popular tools:

  • remote sensing tools
  • geostatistics;
  • hydrological analysis;
  • chanell analysis;
  • daylight analysis;
  • morphometry;
  • fire spread modeling;
  • LIDAR tools;
  • work with digital elevation models (DEM);
  • raster calculation and processing;
  • tools for zonal statistics;
  • work with databases;
  • broad set of tools for vector processing and tools for 3D vizualization;
  • work with CAD;
  • export directly into interactive maps via Leaflet, Openlayers or even Google Maps engine;

Groups and tools in toolbox depended on distributive redaction type.

On the whole, toolbox in the ArcGIS is very rich and consist such primary groups of tools:

  • ArcGIS 3D Analyst – collection for processing of 3D data, elevation models and others.;
  • ArcGIS Geostatistical Analyst – set for modeling, evaluation and analysis of geospatial data;
  • ArcGIS Network Analyst – set for geospatial analysis of networks and routes, aims to solve logistic problems;
  • ArcGIS Tracking Analyst – set of analytical tools for evaluation of place-time dependings;
  • ArcGIS Data Interoperability – tools for import-export operations in number of data formats;
  • exporting into interactive maps for ArcGIS online service and for ArcGIS servrer.

New versions have been publishing every 4-6 months and regularly are available the newest beta-versions.

New versions have been publishing, approximately, every 1 year. New versions distributed as detached software, which needed to be bought again.
